Wow, I didn't think summer would be flying by. I guess the old saying is true that time flies when you're having fun. I have definitely enjoyed being on summer vacation and love being at home with the kids. We just got back from the beach last week. It was not the normal, relaxing trip that you would think (having a 4 mos. old, 7 yr. old, and a 12 yr. old and a friend- that makes it difficult to just sit back and relax). Hopefully, in a few years, I'll be able to enjoy a vacation:-) I got to spend about 30 minutes on the beach the whole stay. I'm ok with that because I'm not too keen on getting all sandy and nasty feeling. Don't get me wrong, I love the beach and the serenity of hearing the waves, but I've never been one to want to go swim in the ocean.
Other than that trip, we have been hanging out at home a lot-I'm working on getting this baby to nap well and that means that we are at home a lot. If I'm out, it's only for a very quick trip. Amber, my 7 year old is taking swim lessons and Josh (my 12 yr. old) is starting his state tournament in baseball this weekend. Last year, they won the state title as 11 yr. olds and this year they are trying to claim this title for a second year in a row. I have mixed feelings about this. I've always tried so hard to be at all of Josh's games to show him my support. Now, with a 4 mos. old baby, it has been more difficult to make every game (as sometimes they have 2 games in one day). So, this weekend the tournament starts in Mount Airy and Jim is thinking that it's best that I don't go to every game (because of all the travel involved with a baby). I want to be there, but I don't want the baby to be miserable. The baby is already arching his back every time we put him in the carseat now (after our trip to the beach). He is making it very clear that he doesn't want to be in his carseat.
I know that I have not posted in forever, but I will try and post pictures of our beach trip and post updates on Josh's games.
